Vale do Lobo prides itself in offering the most extensive range of
sporting and leisure facilities in the Algarve, with something for
everyone to enjoy. For the active, 25 different sports are available
around the resort for visitors to enjoy.
The resort is also home to the largest tennis facility in Portugal.
With 10 all-weather courts, four synthetic courts and further courts
planned, the Tennis Academy attracts several national and
international tennis fixtures throughout the year.
Since the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy was first established in 1980
it has grown into one of the finest centres in Europe with first
class facilities and coaching programmes tailored to suit all ages
and levels of players.
The Academy, now an annual venue for the prestigious ATP Seniors
World Tour, is run by the former top Portuguese player Pedro Frazão
who was named Professional of the Year by the coaches association in
1999. He heads a team of nine professional coaches.

 Former host to the European Tour Portuguese Open in 2002-2003, Vale
do Lobo is home to two of the most challenging and stunningly
beautiful golf courses in Europe.
Vale do Lobo's Ocean Golf Course, is situated on the very edge of
the coastline and allows golfers to tee-off alongside some of the
most incredible ocean views in the Algarve.
The acclaimed Royal Golf Course is also stunning, with undulating
fairways set amidst pine trees and beautiful lakes surrounded by
wild flowers, offering glorious views across Vale do Lobo and far
beyond. The famous 16th hole, a cliff-top par 3, is not only a
unique challenge, but one of the most celebrated golfing images in
the world.
Based on original concepts by the legendary late Sir Henry Cotton
and re-developed by respected American Golf Architect, Rocky
Roquemore, the Royal and the Ocean tests a golfer's game like few
courses can.
These enviable golf facilities, combined with the Algarve's
excellent climate, a choice of outstanding property, 2km of sandy
beach and a selection of fine restaurants, make Vale do Lobo the

In total, more than 25 different sports are available at Vale do
Lobo, including a variety of water sports which take place along the
resort's two kilometres of golden beach such as sailing,
wind-surfing, water-skiing and jet skiing.
As well as two championship golf courses and Portugal's largest
tennis facility, Vale do Lobo offers much for the sports fan
including two gyms, mini-golf, volleyball, pilates, aerobics and
dedicated sports fields for football, cricket, hockey and more.
It is hardly surprising that major professional sportsmen and women
choose Vale do Lobo for pre-season fitness courses. Only recently,
Manchester United spent a week here prior to the start of the
current campaign to put an edge on their fitness levels.
